Poetry at the Rainbow Café presents the works of Susan Landgraf and Julianne Seeman on Monday, Jan. 9.
The program is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the café, 112 E. Main St.
Coffee and conversation follow readings. It is an open mic opportunity. The public is invited.
About the poets
Landgraf’s poems have appeared in Prairie Schooner, Poet Lore, Margie, Nimrod, The Laurel Review, and Ploughshares, among others. She’s published more than 400 poems, essays and articles in more than 150 journals, magazines and newspapers, and given more than 150 writing workshops.
Finishing Line Press published her chapbook, “Other Voices”, and Prentice Hall published her textbook, “Student Reflection Journal for Student Success”.
A former journalist, she taught writing, media and diversity/globalism classes at Highline College for 27 years and at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2002, 2008, 2010 and 2012 through an exchange between Highline and Jiao Tong.
A book of writing exercises and a full-length manuscript of poetry are forthcoming next year from Two Sylvias Press and Tebot Bach, respectively.
Seeman recently retired from 40 years of teaching at Bellevue College. She writes poetry and creative non-fiction and is photographer, naturalist and environmentalist who divides her time between her condo on Bitterlake in Seattle and a small cabin she built in Mazama, in the Okanogan National Forest.
She won the Anhinga Award for her first collection, “Enough Light to See”, and has been published in many local and national journals
