Award-winning stand-up act Todd Sawyer headlines Comedy Night at the Ave at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the iconic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.
Originally from a small town in the Northwest, Sawyer began his stand-up comedy career in Seattle in 1989. He has performed throughout the world, from comedy clubs in England to the most famous stages in America. He just wrapped up a three-year tour with Ron White on Ron’s “Moral Compass” tour.
Sawyer co-hosts the podcast, “My Picker is Broken”, and writes for The Huffington Post. He won the prestigious Seattle Stand-up Comedy Competition and has been making people laugh on a variety of television shows from multiple appearances on CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” to National Lampoon’s “Funny Money” or cracking jokes on CMT’s “Country Music’s 20 Sexiest Women”.
Sawyer performed on Paramount Television’s “The World Stands Up”, which aired in Australia, the UK and on BBC America. He also appeared on Entertainment Studios newest show, “ComedyTV.com” and “Man Up/Stand Up”.
Sawyer’s original stories are based on his life’s ups and downs. From being a bull rider on the junior rodeo circuit to his inability to become a fully functioning adult, his unique stories are revealing and funny.
