For the second year in a row, the City of Auburn set local gingerbread house makers against one another in a fiercely-fought, hotly-contested Gingerbread Contest.
The competition was held Dec. 4 to Dec. 18 — and it was very sweet, its aromas amazing, and all creations were out of the stratosphere. The confections were on display at the Auburn Community Center.
The city announced the winners in the adult and youth categories on Dec. 19 as follows:
• The Brunson Family ran off with the adult category victory, with its submission, Sugar Express.
• The Siegler Family Kids took home top honors in the Youth Category with Sugar Overload, a group construction project.
