Canadian Celtic band Tiller’s Folly brings its special sound to the Auburn Avenue Theater for a St. Patrick’s Day Bash.

The curtains open at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the historic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Fueled by their unfailing passion and enthusiasm for music, Tiller’s Folly writes and composes their own songs, drawing on Celtic influenced Canadiana, Americana, Newgrass “and beyond.” Tiller’s continues to experiment with different phrasing, tones and textures while recording and are coming off the release of their ninth CD, Go The Road.

Bruce Coughlan, the founding member of Tiller’s Folly, is the primary songwriter, also supplying vocals, guitar, bodhram, flute and whistles. His love for the misty Pacific Northwest has provided fertile ground for his exceptional songwriting and singing skills.

Laurence Knight, the groups Producer and bassist, has garnered more than 30 years of professional performing and recording experience where he performed with many of the biggest names in the Vancouver, B.C., music scene. His flair for business extenuates Tiller’s production value.

Nolan Murray, heard on the fiddle, mandolin, banjo, viola, and guitar, is one of the most in-demand multi-instrumentalists in the region. The most recent addition to Tiller’s Folly, Nolan previously made a name for himself in such competitions as the California Fiddle and Banjo Championships, the Grandmasters Fiddle Championship and U.S. National Fiddle Contest.
