Petpalooza: The Auburn critter spectacular Petpalooza comes home to Game Farm Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18. Auburn’s Dog Trot kicks off the Petpalooza festival at 9:30 a.m. The Dog Trot starts/finishes at Game Farm Park. Registration is $25 per person and includes an event T-Shirt, full-color race bib and a finisher’s medal. The event is “chip-timed” by Bell Lap Productions. The city expects 10,000-plus at this year’s festival. But pack your patience when looking for parking. The neighborhoods adjacent to the park are great options. Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers: Enjoy free performances June 1 of the Seattle Opera 2024 production, “Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers.” This 45-minute opera for youth audiences fuses folktales from around the world to tell the story of Monkey and his brainy sister, Francine. The siblings must learn to cooperate to escape a hungry crocodile and outwit the greedy Lord of the Tigers. Combining multiple styles of music from Bollywood, Ethiopian jazz, Latin, and classical, this opera shares the timeless message that we all have different strengths, but when we work together, anything is possible.
