The public is invited to attend the 14th annual Reaching Out Fair on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 700 E. Main St.
The Cities & Schools Forum hosts the event designed for Auburn middle school students and their families.
The fair, which runs from 5:30-8:45 p.m., features a resource information fair; a free pizza dinner and dessert; informative breakout sessions; a chance to win $1,400 in scholarships and prizes; and a live finale.
Students and their families have the opportunity to learn how to plan and prepare for high school, college and career. Representatives from more than 50 community agencies and organizations; colleges and universities; career and technical programs; apprenticeship programs; advanced placement; and business and industry will be available to provide information and answer questions.
Additionally, there will be breakout sessions for parents and students to learn how to pay for college; access colleges, universities, technical programs and apprenticeships; enter innovative and interesting careers; and access youth resources in the community.
Auburn middle school students have the opportunity to win more than $1,400 in scholarships and prizes by visiting resource information displays and attending breakout sessions. Students can enter into a drawing to win one of two $500 scholarships for post-secondary education and a $100 or one of six $50 gift certificates to The Outlet Collection│Seattle.
The live finale begins at 8:15 p.m. Guest speakers Pete Parsons, Bungie COO & Meteor Solutions Co-Founder, and Michael Greenwood, The Boeing Company Senior Manager, will share exciting news about the Video Game and Aviation & Aerospace Industries.
