2 Auburn men capture Lottery winnings

Residents with the 253 area code were hit with a stroke of luck as several won thousands of dollars worth of prize money this week.

Residents in Tacoma and Auburn won big, accumulating more than $185,000 playing Hit 5, Daily Keno, and Match 4 from Washington’s Lottery.

It began Monday with Tacoma resident, Dwight Monohon, who won a $140,000 from a Hit 5 ticket he purchased at his favorite 7-Eleven on 6th Avenue.

Monohon works for the Evergreen State College Policy Department, and has two sons. He plans to buy one of his sons a new Mac for college in New York, and the other will get a little assistance with the purchase of a new car.

In addition, two Auburn men came up winners.

An Auburn man won $25,000 playing Daily Keno. He reported that he’s been playing the same numbers for 18 years and will put the money in savings. He purchased his ticket at the 7-Eleven on 21st Street in Auburn.

Auburn’s James Norris got his winning Match 4 ticket from Fred Meyer on Auburn Way and will disperse some of his $10,000 winnings among his 13 grandchildren.

A Spanaway man who bought his ticket at Safeway on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma also claimed a $10,000 prize playing Match 4.
