2 men wounded in Auburn shooting

A shooting in Auburn on Oct. 8 resulted in the hospitalization of two victims.

According to he Auburn Police Department, officers responded at around 10 p.m. Oct. 8 to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of 29th Street Southeast.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found two 20-year-old men both suffering from “at least” one gunshot wound, according to the department.

First responders treated the two men at the scene and transported one victim to Harborview Medical Center and a second to Valley Medical Center, according to the Auburn Police Department. A social media post from the Valley Regional Fire Authority said both men were transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, with one transported via airlift.

Kolby Crossley, public information officer for the Auburn Police Department, said one of the victims had suffered less severe injuries and had been downgraded from critical condition and transported to Valley Medical Center instead.

The Auburn Police Department closed the area temporarily for investigation. Notified of the shooting, Auburn detectives have started investigations into the incident, according to the department.

As of Oct. 9, investigators have no suspects.
