Advisory: Construction, concerts, festival to affect Auburn-area traffic | Updated listings

The City of Auburn Traffic Division, Police Department and Streets Division will be working in the coming days and weeks to accommodate the extra activities, festivals and traffic.

The City of Auburn Traffic Division, Police Department and Streets Division will be working in the coming days and weeks to accommodate the extra activities, festivals and traffic.

The majority of the impacts will be seen on Auburn Way South, the Muckleshoot Casino area and the White River Amphitheatre. Officials want to inform area residents of the upcoming activities so you can plan accordingly for increased traffic and noise.

Traffic advisory

Crews will be striping arterial and collector roads throughout the City through the month of September. Please do not follow paint vehicles too closely or cross over wet paint. This work is dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during painting, but minor delays should be expected in areas where painting is currently taking place.

Construction locations

• South 277th Street – Auburn Way North to Green River Bridge

• West Main Street – Interurban Trail to West Valley Highway, West Valley Highway from West Main St. to 15th St. NW, 15th St. NW from W. Valley Highway to C St. SW

• Southbound I-5/S – 320th to Duwamish River

• Auburn Way South – Muckleshoot Plaza to Dogwood St. SE, beginning in September

• Southbound I-5 weekend lane reductions: July 22-25 between SeaTac and Des Moines; Aug. 12-15 and 19-22 at the Duwamish River Bridge

• Dykstra Levee – area of 12 St NE to 24th St NE

Street closures

• Friday, Aug. 12: 5K Summer Stride Fun Run (traffic impacts 6 p.m.-9 p.m.). Street closures: 4th Street SE, from F Street to M Street. Other impacted streets: A portion of K Street SE, 5th Street SE and F Street SE will be coned off for runners.

• Saturday, Aug. 13: Auburn Days Parade (traffic impacts 9 a.m.-1 p.m.). Streets closed: Main Street between J Street NE/SE and B Street NW; A Street SW/NW between 1st Street SW & 1st Street NW; N/S Division St from 1st Street SW to 1st Street NW; E Street NE from 2nd Street NE to E Main Street; 1st Street NW between B Street NW to N Division St.; B Street NE between E. Main Street & 1st Street NE.
