AgriShop, Auburn’s family-run lawn, garden and equipment store since 1975, is holding a grand opening next weekend to introduce the addition of its Ace Hardware lineup.
A full weekend of festivities will include an appearance by Ed Hume, one of the foremost gardening authorities in the Pacific Northwest.
“We’re very excited about it,” said Darren Jones, co-proprietor along with his brother, Keith. “It’s an opportunity to cater to people who have never been into our business before and allows us a whole new array of products.”
AgriShop, located at 308 W. Main St., acquired the Ace lineup in November, months after Pat Cavanaugh sold his longtime Ace Hardware operation.
The Jones brothers’ store specializes in nursery products and supports one of the area’s top garden centers. AgriShop also sells, services and provides parts for John Deere, Stihl, Honda and other major lines of power equipment.
Next weekend’s celebrations will span three days (8 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday; 8-6 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday).
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. next Friday.
Hume is scheduled to appear noon to 2 p.m., next Friday. KMPS radio will be broadcasting live Saturday.
There will be product demonstrations, prize drawings and sales throughout next weekend.
