The 19-year-old Algona teen who allegedly stabbed to death a 13-year-old boy in Pacific last week was charged with first-degree murder and burglary Wednesday at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Suhr, pictured left, is in custody and prosecutors have asked that his $1 million bail be increased to $2 million because of his “clear danger to the community.”

“The defendant has shown no remorse for his actions,” the King County Prosecuting Office’s Request for Bail document said. “When asked how he felt about (Walter Denesha’s) death, he replied, ‘it is what it is. It’s not going to make my day any better or any worse.'”

Suhr is alleged to have killed Denesha, a Mount Baker Middle School seventh-grader, last week at the Cobble Court Aparments at 600 Ellingson Road in Pacific.

In probable cause documents, Suhr allegedly confessed to breaking into Denesha’s apartment, stabbing him in the upper chest, on the left and right sides, and stuffing his body into a closet.

Suhr then allegedly assaulted Denesha’s 16-year-old sister, Suhr’s ex-girlfriend, whom he had dated briefly months ago and still believed was “the one” – by choking her and threatening to kill her and her family if she didn’t write a note claiming that she killed Denesha. He also demanded that she leave the apartment with him, according to charging documents.

Suhr took three Japanese swords from the apartment.

Police took him into custody after a brief standoff in Algona this past Friday morning.

After his police interview Suhr wrote an apology letter to the teen girl, writing “I am sorry for the pain I have caused you and your family. I hope in future years or lives that we can move forward in are (sic) union be as one. I have and always will love u.”

Suhr is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18.
