The Auburn Avenue Theater was created as part of the May 8

Clean Sweep that celebrated the beautification of the city.

Artist Rachael Dotson designed the mural, and the city invited members of the community to paint a section of it and be part of the display. The 1920s theme and motif was inspired by the building itself, and the figures and bus relate back to the original use of the building as a bus depot.
