White River Chainsaw Carvers Championships: 8 a.m..-5 p.m., July 10-12, (auction, 5:30 p..m., July 11; and 3:30 p.m., July 12), Pacific City Park, 600 3rd Ave SE. Inaugural event, featuring 12 of the top chainsaw artist in the Northwest including three-time Echo Cup Champion Bob King. The event is a joint partnership between the City of Pacific, the Pacific/Algona community center and WRCCC. Carvers will compete for thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise. Pieces will be auctioned on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with proceeds split between competitors and covering event costs.
