Auburn Airport Appreciation Day takes flight Saturday, July 6

Like the Auburn Municipal Airport?

Why not show it, by joining airport staff, volunteers and the pilots who fly the planes for Airport Appreciation Day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 6 at the airport office at 2143 E St. NE?

Eyeball aircraft displays, catch a car show charity event, thrill to a motorcycle show, ogle a speed boat display and a home built solar car. For the kiddies, there’ll be a fire engine, a bouncy house, and lots more.

And of course, enjoy a snack or two.

“This is to recognize the importance of the airport in the city, and to raise awareness. Hopefully, a lot of people will come out to see what the airport’s all about,” said Ingrid Gaub, public works director for the City of Auburn.

The airport began operations in 1969.

Sponsors of the event are the city of Auburn, the Washington Pilots Association and local airport tenants.
