Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Jan. 21 and Jan. 25:
Jan. 21
Burglary: 7 a.m., 1438 32nd St. NE. Somebody reported a construction job trailer burglary beginning with a broken window and ending in stolen office equipment. Police did not disclose a value.
Vandalism: 5:05 a.m., 4300 block of A Street Southeast. Local car wash owners reported that a cash-operated machine sustained damage during an attempted theft. Police didn’t say how much damage the machine sustained or offer an estimate of the damages.
Shoplifting: 3:24 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a woman for trying to shoplift clothing worth more than $200 from Fred Meyer.
Jan. 22
Prowl: 12:30 a.m., 635 7th St. NE. Police arrested a man for vehicle prowl after a witness saw him inside a vehicle at the Park Terrace Apartments. During a K9 track, police found the suspect hiding in some bushes, and the witness positively identified him. The man was booked into the Auburn Jail for vehicle prowl and his Auburn PD warrants.
Jan. 24
Forgery: 11:15 p.m., 5148 Auburn Way N. The owner of a convenience store reported that an unidentified man tried to cash a bogus $100 bill. The employee said no way, and the bad bill passer fled the store, leaving the bill behind.
Burglary: 10 a.m., 4620 B St. NW. An employee of SOS Metal, Inc., told police that while the business was closed over the weekend, burglars broke into a locked conex container and stole several hundred pounds of aluminum and titanium. Police did not disclose a value for the missing metal.
Auto theft: Overnight, 800 block of 45th Street Northeast. A woman reported that somebody stole her 1997 Saturn from the parking lot of her apartment complex sometime during the night.
Jan. 25
Theft: 8 a.m., 400 block of 23rd Street Northeast. Vandals attacked the runway and taxiway lighting at Auburn Municipal Airport. Police did not disclose a value.
Theft: 9 a.m., 4510 B St. NW. An employee of Tarr Incorporated reported that somebody stole an international delivery box truck from the business over the weekend. Police did not disclose a value.
