The Seasons at Lea Hill Village community Christmas tree lighting ceremony: 7 p.m., Dec. 4, 12722 SE 312th. St., Auburn. The public is invited. Pfaff’s Christmas Tree Farm provided The Seasons with a 20-foot tree, which will be decorated and lighted. Organizers welcome children to bring handmade decorations to hang on the tree. Santa Claus will make a visit. There will be snacks, hot drinks and caroling.
Wright Spirit holiday celebration: 10 a.m., Dec. 11, Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158, off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field. Santa Claus arrives via helicopter at 10 a.m. to kick off the museum’s annual holiday celebration honoring the Wright brothers’ first powered flight on Dec. 17, 1903. After his arrival, Santa will be joined by Mrs. Claus to greet children in the museum’s Great Gallery until 2 p.m. Holiday music will be performed by West Seattle’s Hope Lutheran School bell choir from 10-11 a.m., and by the Boeing Orchestra of Flight from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Model airplane building workshops are at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Wright Spirit activities will continue until 2 p.m., and are free with museum admission.
