Auburn’s ArtRageous, Artist in Action Art Fair: 11 a.m.-4 p.m., July 25, Auburn’s Les Gove Park, 1005 12th St. SE. The fair will feature professional artists presenting demonstrations in a variety of art media, from painting to woodworking to encaustic, and offering related hands-on activities. The City of Auburn, Auburn Valley YMCA free community swap meet: 9 a.m.-noon, Aug. 15, at the YMCA, 1620 Perimeter Road SW. Wilderness Survival Training class: 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug. 8. Developed by Green River Community College’s natural resources program and available through continuing education for the general public. The 8-hour, hands-on class will be taught by an experienced wilderness survival trainer as well as a woman EMT, both students in the natural resources program at GRCC. Class is appropriate for teens, scout troops, hunters, hikers and backpackers. Topics and demonstrations include shelter options, fire preparation and lighting techniques, how to signal for a rescue, being prepared for survival situations and having the ideal survival kit.
