The Auburn Police Officers Association will hold its ninth annual charity golf tournament at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Auburn Golf Course, 29630 Green River Road.
Organizers invite players, donors and sponsors to join in this year’s fundraising effort.
In 2007, the tournament garnered more than $14,000 and this year’s goal is to surpass $20,000 to support local charities such as Auburn Youth Resources, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Children’s Home Society, the Auburn Food Bank, Youth Sports Sponsorships, Young Life, Special Olympics of Washington and many others.
Sponsorships start as low as $250 and organizers also will accept donations of items that can be used in a raffle or silent auction.
Player entry fee is $100 per person and includes golf, cart, box lunch, dinner and beverages. The tournament is a four-player scramble event and is known throughout the region as the largest law enforcement tournament in the area. There will be several individual contests, team awards, silent auction and raffle. Brochure can be downloaded at www.auburnwa.gov.
