The Auburn Education Association and supporters rallied for schools, waving signs at street corners and joining speakers on the steps of City Hall Thursday afternoon.
Supporters gathered to write postcards to their legislators, then local dignitaries addressed the crowd.
The rally was an opportunity for teachers to voice their concerns about how public education is funded. They urge the Legislature to adequately fund and support education throughout the state.
“It’s time to listen to what the voters said they wanted and fund smaller class sizes,” according to rally organizers.
