Auburn falls to Kentridge 64-47; | Prep boys basketball

Despite a game-high 24 points from senior Rio Paul the Auburn boys basketball team was unable to overcome No. 3 Kentridge, falling 64-47 in South Puget Sound League North 4A play Friday at Kentridge. The undefeated Chargers (13-0 league, 17-0) built on their 28-20 first half lead in the second half, posting 36 second half points to the Trojans' (9-4, 10-6) 27.

The undefeated Chargers (13-0 league, 17-0) built on their 28-20 first half lead in the second half, posting 36 second half points to the Trojans’ (9-4, 10-6) 27.

Kentridge was led by Danny Torlai’s 20 points, with Jawan Stepney adding 16 and Keasean Kelly chipping in with 10.

Senior Marquis Prater added 15 points for Auburn.

The SPSL North 4A Trojan’s will host second-place Tahoma (9-4, 11-6) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

ALSO: Drake Rademacher’s game-high 26 points helped lift first-place Enumclaw (6-0 league, 13-3) to a 65-54 SPSL 3A victory over Auburn Mountainview (1-4, 5-10) on Friday. Bryce Peterson added 19 points for the Hornets and Zac Webb had 11. For the Lions, Ki’Jan Weisinger had a team-high 17, with Tristan Miguel and Ryan Lacey contributing 13 each. Auburn Mountainview will travel to Bonney Lake (0-5, 0-14) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
