Auburn High School DECA will host the inaugural Jingle Bell Jog, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 12 at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
Individuals or teams will walk, jog or run in an effort to raise money for cancer research and prevention. The shortened version of the Relay for Life is intended to encourage participation not only of students and staff of the Auburn School District, but also families and the Auburn community.
The event will include live holiday music, reindeer games, mini competitions, and concessions
Santa Claus will be on hand to accept letters and requests and later deliver a special presentation to the top fundraising team and individual.
Jingle bells will be provided for participants to wear on their shoes during the jog. Honorary jingle bells, which will be sold for $2 to pay tribute to friends and family who lost their lives to cancer, will be displayed on the Jingle Bell Tree
Jingle Bell Jog T-shirts will be sold at a special price, with proceeds going to the ACS.
