Auburn man, 34, found dead with stab wound

Auburn police have limited information in the early investigation into the stabbing death of a 34-year-old man in Auburn.

According to the department, Auburn police officers were dispatched at around 12:45 a.m. Sept. 3 for a welfare check at 41st Street Southeast and A Street Southeast.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest. Officers performed lifesaving measures prior to the pronouncement of the man as dead at the scene.

Auburn police have no information regarding “what led up to these events,” as of Sept. 3.

“[It’s] too early to tell whether it was targeted or random,” said Kolby Crossley, public information officer for the Auburn Police Department. “We’re just looking for any sort of lead possible.”

Officers discovered the injured 34-year-old man outdoors, Crossley said.
