Auburn mom opens her home to school youngsters

Quality preschool development is a necessity, not a luxury, and that’s one of the primary reasons Tiffany Eaton opened her Auburn home to accommodate a year-round preschool.

“Since having my son, who is going to be 4, I realized the potential for learning is so huge if they’re in the right environment,” said Eaton, a wife and mother of three. “There are not that many quality programs out there.”

Recognizing the need for a well-designed, responsible and convenient preschool, Eaton put her small business background to work and returned to school, completing specialty training in child development and early childhood education.

Blessed Beginnings Preschool has been four years in the making for Eaton, whose passion for early childhood education was further fueled by parents’ desires for a quality learning environment.

“And here, I really want to focus on learning, following each domain of the child’s development … to work with them and to help them develop skills,” Eaton said.

For Eaton, preschool education is critical in building the foundation of learning. She wants to do her part to ensure that kids are well prepared for academic learning.

“The common belief that children entering kindergarten who haven’t attended preschool are at a disadvantage holds some real validity,” Eaton said.

Eaton’s preschool offers a structured, private care environment where children can learn at a developmentally-appropriate pace while socializing with other children their age.

Children are taught life skills as well as the basics through one-and-one and group situations. The preschool’s creative curriculum is hands-on and station-based with non-denominational Christian values.

A preschool should be exciting, organized and open. Eaton has shaped her center to reflect that.

Eaton’s preschool fits a variety of family situations, including stay-at-home moms and dads. She welcomes open communication with parents and children.

She also will have early childhood education students from Highline Community College volunteering at her preschool.
