The Auburn Mountainview Robotics team recently competed at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Mo., reaching the semifinals.
The team competed in a field of 400 top teams from throughout the world.
In the first day of competition, Auburn Mountainview went 4-1 and were first in their division. On the second day, the team went 4-0 and sitting fifth place in the event. Auburn Mountainview won a crucial match and were the No. 2 seed going into the semifinals on the third day. But the season came to an end with a loss in the semifinals.
Auburn Mountainview fielded the highest-placing team from the Northwest region. The team secured a spot in St. Louis by winning the Pacific Northwest District championship in Portland earlier in April.
