Auburn Mountainview secures SPSL 3A title | Prep Volleyball

The Auburn Mountainview volleyball team captured the South Puget Sound League 3A title on Wednesday with a 3-1 home win over Peninsula. The Lions (9-0 league, 12-2 overall) came away with the win with scores of 25-15, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-15.

The No. 9-ranked Lions (9-0 league, 12-2 overall) came away with the win with scores of 25-15, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-15.

Savanna Cappa paced Auburn Mountainview with 49 assists in the contest with Kaylie Paul adding 19 digs and three aces.

Molly Cischosz had 16 kills and three aces and Maya Williamson added 10 kills.

Delany Ralph had nine kills and Alison Davenport chipped in with five kills.

The Seahawks (2-6, 5-9) were led by Emily Stavig and Mckenzie Looney who each had seven kills.

The Lions will finish up their regular season schedule at 7 p.m. next Tuesday with a match at Decatur (1-5, 2-8).

The team begins play in the SPSL 3A sub district tournament on Nov. 2 to determine seeding into the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 tourney Nov. 8-9 at Auburn Mountainview High School.
