The City of Auburn Emergency Preparedness Division offers a free class on Tuesday, June 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main St. on building a disaster kit on a limited budget.

Participants will learn how to build a basic kit for $20 or less and also receive a free item to start a kit.

Participants also will learn about Auburn area hazards and to get involved in local disaster preparedness. Disasters may strike at any time, usually with little or no warning.

Families, businesses, and other community organizations can take steps to prepare for emergencies.

Registration is not required for this class, but space is limited.
