Auburn police responded to the following calls, among many others, between 1 and April 5:
April 1
Shoplifting: 2:12 p.m., 1101 Supermall SW. Two women stole undisclosed merchandise from Burlington Coat Factory and ran off south toward 15th Street Southwest. One was quickly caught, the other was finally found hiding in a brushy area south of 15th Street Southwest and east of O Street Southwest. All the purloined goodies were recovered.
April 4
Theft: 10:30 p.m., 900 block 5th Street Southeast. A suspicious subject was seen looking into cars and trying door handles. The subject broke into a Dodge pickup and removed items still unknown, as the owner could not be located. A K9 search could not find the bad guy.
Weapons offense: 12:10 a.m., 3200 block of C Street Northeast. Police arrested a suspect on a warrant after he or she was caught hiding a gun on top of a parked truck wheel.
April 5
Theft from coin machine: 5:41 a.m., 317 23rd St. SE. Subjects unknown broke into some laundry machines and stole an unknown amount of money.
Commercial burglary: 8 a.m., 5100 block of D Street Northwest. Persons unknown entered the yard of a refrigeration business and stole some type of metal. Police did not disclose a value.
Theft from motor vehicle: 7:30 a.m., 300 block of 37th Street Southeast. Somebody swiped a mirror from a King County Housing Authority vehicle in the 300 block of 37th Street Southeast during the Easter holiday weekend.
Vandalism: 1 p.m., 6100 block of South 300th Street. Between April 1 and April 5, somebody sprayed graffiti on the retaining walls and foundations of a torn-down home.
Theft from coin machine: 2:25 p.m., 504 25th St. SE. Somebody stole an unknown amount of change from the laundry room of an Auburn apartment complex.
Trespassing: 6:55 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for ignoring an order permanently barring his presence from the Muckleshoot Casino after he provided identification to gain points on his Player’s Card.
