Obstructing justice: 12:57 p.m., 2102 I St. NE. A police officer, happening upon a man and woman engaged in a heated argument in the parking lot of the Colonial Court Apartment, stopped and asked the couple to chill out. The bickering couple ignored the officer and ran into an apartment, so police knocked on the door to check on the couple’s welfare. A different female came out, shut the door and refused to let the officers inside. Police arrested said female for lying about her name. When police told her she was under arrest, she screamed, “No I’m not!” Officers did not agree, and when they tried to handcuff the female, she resisted. Police then used a battering ram on the door and arrested the man and woman for obstructing. All three were booked into the Auburn Jail.
Shoplifting: 9:30 p.m.,
101 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for shoplifting a pack of beer from Safeway, and when they learned the Department of Corrections had a warrant out for the guy as an escapee, they booked him into jail for that, too.
