Aug. 7

Theft from vehicle: 12 p.m., 3025 Auburn Way N. Somebody stole a stereo system from a man’s vehicle, damaging said vehicle in the thieving process.

Aug. 11

DUI alcohol or drugs: 10:19 a.m., 600 Auburn Way S. After vehicle A collided with vehicle B, police busted Vehicle A’s driver for DUI, got a blood search warrant and siphoned up a blood sample.

Theft: 3:30 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. Walmart became the victim of internal thievery.

Burglary: 12 p.m., 802 A St. SE. A man reported the theft of construction materials.

Purse theft: 4 p.m., 1620 Perimeter Road SW. Someone stole an undisclosed item or items from an unlocked locker at the YMCA.

Aug. 12

Vandalism: 2:03 a.m., 1531 Auburn Way N. Witnesses eyed three boys up to no good under the Golden Arches, abusing a couch.

Aug. 13

Vandalism: 8 p.m., 800 block of 25th Street Southeast. A boy, as yet known only to himself, jumped from a house onto a vehicle, damaging its roof.

Aug. 15

Vandalism: 6:08 p.m., 600 block of 41st Street Southeast. A woman told police that her boyfriend had damaged her property to get his cellphone back. She refused to identify the dude or cooperate with police.

Aug. 17

Theft: 2500 block of B Street NW. Some thief out and about in the wee small hours of the morning swiped a van’s headlights and taillights.

Hit and run and DUI: 12:01 p.m., 1000 Harvey Road NE. After a woman with three times the legal limit of fermented beverage sloshing about in her system boozily collided with another vehicle, she took to her heels, leaving her young daughter behind. Police soon caught up with and busted the woman. She provided breath samples of .26 and .24.

Theft: 1:56 p.m., 1403 Auburn Way S. A thief prowled a vehicle, swiped money from its interior and ran away.

Vandalism: 8:38 p.m. 11815 SE 304th St. At some interval between Aug. 15 and 17, vandals with an unknown beef against education institutions broke windows and sprayed paint all over the exteriors of Rainier Middle School and Hazelwood Elementary School.

Theft of wire: 5 a.m., 3000 block of 15th Street Southeast. An Auburn resident left copper wire in the back of a trailer attached to his truck in front of his house, and somebody stole that wire.
