Aug. 16

Bike theft: Overnight, 2000 block of A Street Southeast. Somebody stole a bike.

Bogus bucks: 2:33 p.m., 1100 block of Auburn Way N. Somebody used a counterfeit $20 bill to try to pay for food at the Pick-Quick restaurant.

Theft: 12 a.m., 1000 Auburn Way S. An unknown person damaged a fire hydrant pipe and stole the hydrant valve.

Forgery: 9 p.m., 1132 Auburn Way N. Staff at the Pick-Quick restaurant reported that they were in possession of counterfeit bills that had been passed in exchange for food over about a week’s time.

Burglary: 4 p.m., 11800 block of Southeast 319th Place. Somebody unlawfully entered a home and deprived its owner of multiple items.

Assault: 9:30 p.m., 2000 Auburn Way S. A man beat his girlfriend with his hands and fists, injuring her.

Aug. 17

Thievery: 11 a.m., 410 H St. NE. Somebody stole a woman’s wallet when she was at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Shoplifting: 9:40 p.m., 762 Outlet Collection Drive. Police busted a man for trying to shoplift a bunch of stuff undisclosed, and the store got its stuff, still undisclosed, back.

More thievery: 3:30 p.m., 1600 block of 15th St. SW. Somebody stole backpacks from a vehicle, with, who knows, maybe stuff in ’em, maybe not.

Aug. 18

Tried to steal an excavator: Overnight, 6700 block of Udall Court Southeast. Suspects unknown tried to steal a John Deere excavator using an unreported stolen trailer out of Pierce County.

Car and trailer theft: 9:46 a.m., 1500 block of O Street Southwest. An Auburn business reported that thieves had stolen a truck and a dump trailer over the weekend. Video surveillance caught a two-tone Dodge truck pulling the trailer from the business in the early morning hours of Aug. 16.

Trespassing: 6:15 p.m., 901 Auburn Way N. A man was picking up his paycheck at Labor Works when someone assaulted him.

Strong-arm street robbery: 8:50 p.m., 1100 block of 17th Street Northeast. A male reported that an unknown male displayed a small knife and robbed him of $20.
