Feb. 2

Theft: Overnight, 1130 block of Auburn Way S. Thieves stole stuff that had belonged to an Arizona man visiting Auburn.

Feb. 4

Controlled substance: 5:56 a.m., 5400 block of South 296th Street. A man had heroin, police found out, busted him.

Trespassing: 12:39 p.m., 2117 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man at the Muckleshoot Bingo Hall because, despite the long, pointy teeth of a trespass notice telling the man not to be there, he was there.

Prescription forgery: 6:22 p.m., 1135 E. Main St. By the time police got to the drug store, a woman who’d tried to fob off a forged prescription was already gone.

Theft: 6:54 p.m., 28900 124th Avenue SE. Somebody swiped a pair of headphones from a Mountainview High School locker room.

Trespassing: 7:19 p.m., 320 Auburn Way S. Said Burger King to one of his squirrelier subjects: “Be gone.”

Theft: 7 a.m., 1505 24th St. SE. Although a power pole had PSE and Quest printed on it, thieves paid the words no mind and stole copper wire from it anyway.

Theft: 7 a.m., 1808 B St. NE Suite 150. Thieves cut cables and stole batteries from a truck on a business’ parking lot sometime between Dec. 10 and Feb. 4.

Theft: 7 a.m., 1808 B St. NE Suite 150. Thieves stole power cords and lift gate cords from six company trucks, at a value of $100 each, between Dec. 14 and Dec. 16.

Vandalism: Overnight, B Street parking lot. Somebody shattered the driver’s-side window of a vehicle and stole keys, five CDs, one inverter, sunglasses and possibly other items.

Theft: Overnight, 505 17th St. SE. Vandals hit Holy Family Catholic School once more, this time cutting locks from a fence and making off with them, prompting school fears for the safety of students and staff.

Theft: 7 a.m., 414 17th St. SE. Bad persons unknown slurped up gas from a Regency Auburn Rehab van.

Trespassing under the arches: 10:06 a.m., 702 Auburn Way S. A female stirring up too great a fuss and refusing to leave finally exited McDonald’s on the emphatic boot of Mayor McCheese.

Feb. 5

Shoplifting: 8:53 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. A male stole purses from the Michael Kors store.

Feb. 8

Arson: Overnight, 1230 block of 29th Street Southeast. The Auburn Police Department and the Valley Regional Fire Authority investigated a fire of suspicious combustion.

Burglary: Overnight, 12 D St. NW. Somebody broke into the laundry room of an apartment complex and stole the dryer’s coin box.

Trespassing: 2:42 p.m., 4010 A St. SE. A guy shoplifted, Albertsons objected, he went bye bye.

Trespassing: 8:47 p.m., 4810 block of A Street Southeast. A man was trespassed for verbally harassing customers of an undisclosed business for money and not leaving the area when store security asked him to.

Warrant arrest: 2:02 a.m., 502 8th St. NE. When police learned that a sex offender who’d failed to register as such was living in a northend apartment complex, an officer showed up with a warrant to arrest him. When the officer knocked at the guy’s door, the guy opened it six inches, immediately declared he had nothing to with a burglary that had occurred recently in that area, didn’t want to talk and slammed the front door so hard he broke a square glass insert on the door. When the officer told the man through the door that he had a warrant for his arrest, and that he needed to come outside, the guy opened his door and the officer arrested him.
