Feb. 16

Theft: 7 a.m., 5021 S 321st St. A thief or thieves stole copper wire of undisclosed value and quantify from a construction site.

Stealing suds: 9:35 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A man stole beer from Safeway.

Assault: 10:30 p.m., 2900 block of Auburn Way South. Police busted a man for trying to strangle his girlfriend, with whom he shares a child.

Theft: 9 p.m., 31000 block of 117th Place Southeast. Somebody lifted a front door mat and stole the check that was under it.

Feb. 17

Theft: 12:02 p.m., 1701 Auburn Way S. A man snatched up edible items from the southend Walgreens and skedaddled on his thieving legs into the rainy, Pacific Northwest afternoon.

Postal theft: 4:38 p.m., 10 block of Riverview Drive Northeast. Police busted a man for trying to steal mail and for having auto theft tools.

Feb. 18

Fraud: 3:20 p.m., 1602 A St. SE. Somebody attached a credit card skimming device to the ATM in a 7-Eleven.

Theft: 4 p.m., 31700 block of 124th Avenue Southeast. A female told police that somebody had broken into her car and stolen her book bag.

Trespassing: 4 p.m., 620 D St. SE. Police found two homeless people in an abandoned home.

Theft: 4 p.m., 762 Outlet Collection Drive SW. A man paid $460 for a stolen cellphone.

Feb. 21

Controlled stuff: 10:05 a.m., 1519 Auburn Way South. Police busted two guys they’d seen getting ready to use illegal drugs. One man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, the other with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vandalism: 4:05 p.m., 2800 block of K Street Southeast. Somebody slashed a woman’s tires.
