Dec. 29

Theft: Overnight, 32100 block of 105th Place Southeast. A woman asked to borrow her boyfriend’s rented iPad to take on a two-day trip to San Diego. Or so she said. Turns out the “two-day” prefix on the word “trip” was her ruse to move in with a man with whom she had been chatting there. Because she had no intention of returning to Auburn, the status of the “rented” iPad morphed after her “see-ya-in-two, honeybun” to “stolen” iPad. The woman changed her phone number and shut down her Facebook account, leaving the man with no way to contact her. Police intend to forward the case to the City of Auburn’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of charges.
