Auburn police responded to numerous calls for service between Jan. 5 and Jan. 11, among them the following:
Jan. 5
Vandalism: 11:59 p.m., 900 block of 23rd Street Southeast. A witness saw two young men spray painting “ATSGF” on a van.
Jan. 8
Burglary: 7:54 a.m., 1211 Auburn Way N. Somebody broke the front door of Auburn Nails. Police couldn’t say if anything was actually stolen.
Jan. 9
Vandalism: 6:25 p.m., 500 block of 7th Street Southeast. A boy got into a argument with his dad and punched a hole in a door. No charges were filed.
Vandalism: 1:05 a.m., 4000 block of A Street Southeast. Police arrested a man after he threw items about and damaged a vehicle during a road-rage incident.
Jan. 10
Shoplifting: 524 A St. SE. An unidentified male swiped an 18-pack of beer from a convenience store.
Fraud: 11:22 a.m., 6000 block of Olive Avenue Southeast. An Auburn man reported that somebody stole his checkbook sometime between July and November of 2010 and that subjects unknown then wrote $1,450 worth of bogus checks on his account.
Vandalism: 11:06 a.m., 2800 block of I Street Northeast. Somebody damaged a window at North Auburn Rehabilitation.
Theft: 2:01 p.m., 5830 S 300th St. Somebody stole copper wire from a light pole at Meredith Hill Elementary. Police did not disclose a value for the missing wire.
And stay out of the Safeway!: 2:24 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. The folks at Safeway made clear to a man who had made himself a nuisance of an undisclosed type that he was no longer welcome back.
Theft: 7:14 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man at the Muckleshoot Casino for plucking a money ticket out of a machine that someone else was playing while said player was in the bathroom.
Commercial burglary: 10:19 p.m., 535 15th St. NE. A Firestone employee interrupted a suspect trying to remove tires from an unsecured fence area behind the business.
Jan. 11
Vandalism: 1:57 a.m., 500 block of 37th Street Southeast. A man reported that two boys chucked rocks at his vehicle after the aforesaid boys had quarreled with the man’s female companion.
