Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 21 and 25:
July 21
Trespassing: 8:29 a.m., 1825 K St. SE. A man got the comprehensive boot from all property of the Auburn School District.
Fraud: 12:20 p.m., 1120 57th Place SE. A realtor called to report a Craigslist scam in which suspects are listing housing for rent.
Theft: 9:29 p.m., 6300 block of Stuart Place Southeast. Someone stole a package from a woman’s front porch.
July 23
Vandalism: 5 a.m., 1300 block of 17th Street Southeast. Bad guys unknown roughed up mailboxes and stole mail.
Theft: 1:20 p.m., 900 block of 37th Street Northwest. A thief stole things from a vehicle at the Interurban Trail.
Scram, junior!: 2:28 p.m., 1101 Auburn Way S. When a kid’s antics reached an unbearable pitch, King County Library folks told him to book.
July 25
Vandalism: 5 p.m., 1300 block of 28th Street Southeast. Somebody put a bullet hole in the hood of a man’s vehicle, peaceably parked in his driveway.
Thievery under the arches: 5:40 a.m., 1531 Auburn Way N. While a McDonald’s customer was placing his order, someone swiped the laptop he’d left at his table.
Theft: 5:40 p.m., 1441 D St. NE. A man who’d been caught stealing a tool bag from a truck in a parking lot turned out to have drug paraphernalia in his possession, so, both acts being no-nos, he paid a reluctant visit to the SCORE Jail.
Hit-and-run: 7:40 p.m., 3900 Auburn Way N. After vehicle A collided with vehicle B, A’s driver decided somewhere else was where he’d rather be just then, and even though his legs did their best to carry him thither, the law caught up with him a couple blocks away. Arrested for hit-and-run and for having a suspended driver’s license, the guy finally got his “somewhere else,” and it was jail.
Civil matter: 5:40 p.m., 900 block of 6th Street Southeast. A woman’s landlord grabbed her cellphone and used it to squeeze $150 from her in utility costs.
