March 5

Vandalism: 11 a.m., 1500 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a kid for hurling a rock at a passing car, with attendant damage to its windshield.

March 7

Postal theft: 3 p.m., 32000 block of 56th Avenue South. The quick interval between mail delivery and mail theft in one neighborhood has prompted suspicion among at least one of the victims that a thief may be following the mail truck on its appointed rounds and stealing the mail behind it.

Pickpocket:  6 p.m., 23 A St. SW. While a woman was walking at the Transit Center, a boy poked his hand into her back pocket and stole her wallet.

Flaming potty: 7:30 p.m., 29627 Green River Road SE. Unknown hooligans set a portable outhouse ablaze.

Vandalism: 9 a.m., 1700 block of Pike Street Northwest. Somebody broke into a bank of mailboxes.

March 9

Controlled substance …perhaps: 7:34 a.m., 29626 126th Avenue SE. After arresting a fellow for trespassing, police found a baggie of suspicious stuff in his pocket.

Theft: 1:05 p.m., 1100 block of 3rd Street Southeast. A man contacted police to report that thieves had lightened his yard of two items of undisclosed lawn decoration some time within the past several days.

Theft: 12:22 p.m., 1100 block of 3rd St. SE. A boy stole about $3,000 worth of jewelry from his family and sold most of it on the street to an unknown person.

March 10

Fraud: 7:20 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for forging a traveler’s check at the Muckleshoot Casino but released him later.

Shoplifting: 4:15 p.m., 762 Supermall Drive SW. Police arrested a woman for shoplifting an undisclosed item or a number of items at Walmart.

Assault with firearm: 5:47 p.m., 6900 block of Montevista Drive Southeast. Police arrested a man for pointing a handgun at another man.

Fugitive from justice: 10:17 p.m., 3611 I St. NE. The woman was wanted in Oregon with Washington ID and Montana extradition, but the task of arresting her fell to Auburn police. She is in jail now, awaiting extradition.

Vandalism: 2:55 a.m., 2219 D Place NE. Somebody chucked a beer can through a man’s window.

Theft: 6:35 p.m., 6433 Hazel Avenue SE. A female left a Huffy, 18-speed bike in front of her door for six months, and thieves stole it.
