Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between May 16 and 21:
May 16
Theft: 8 p.m., 516 4th St. NE. A thief wheeled away from the Auburn School District Pool with his or her hindquarters a-sitting on a bike on which only its owner’s behind was authorized to be a-sitting.
May 17
Shoplifting: 5:40 p.m., 1072 Auburn Way N. Somebody swiped light bulbs from AutoZone.
May 18
Theft: 10:55 a.m., 1701 Auburn Way S. Several women, ranging in age from their late teens to early 20s, swiped undisclosed stuff from Walgreens then piled into a newer, dark green Buick LeSabre sans plates and sped off into the dawn of a mid-spring day.
Vandalism: 3:10 p.m., 504 W. Main St. Somebody damaged Main Street Thrift’s front window in a manner undisclosed.
Warrant arrest: 3:18 p.m., 340 E. Main St. Police at the Auburn Municipal Court busted a guy on an Auburn warrant for domestic violence and a Kent warrant for camping in a public place where camping was not allowed.
May 21
Trespassing: 5:42 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. When Safeway decided it no longer wanted a particular twosome of wrongdoers hanging out, giving the joint unwanted character, out the door those two went, he and she.
Theft: 12:14 a.m., 2790 Auburn Way S. Two barely-able-to-stand-on-their-own-feet-in-an-AM/PM-parking-lot-they-were-so-drunk women got into a boozy, early morning fight. After a store employee warned that he or she was about to call police on the two, this dude the women had been hanging with, declaring modestly that waiting for law enforcement would be detrimental to the interests of his own hide, which police were eager throw in jail because of some past wrongdoing noted on a warrant, bolted in his car with a purse belonging to one of the women inside, which hasn’t been seen since.
Animal problem: 1:35 p.m., 3030 R St. SE. In the early afternoon of a soggy Petpalooza, leashes got entwined, tempers flared, harsh barks were exchanged and two dogs got into a scrum. While one of the owners was trying to break up the fight, said owner’s dog bit him or her on the hand, whereat dogs and owners made their hasty exit from Game Farm Park. Neither dog had visible injuries.
