Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between May 19 and 26:
May 19
Theft: Overnight, 5800 block of Olive Avenue Southeast. After bad guys stole a vehicle, they tried to use a credit card they’d found inside of it at a 7-11 store in the city of SeaTac.
Vandalism: 8:15 a.m., 4200 block of I Street Northwest. A pickup truck’s owner complained that somebody had poured a foreign fluid into its brake line on May 12.
Trespassing: 12:39 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Safeway rebuffed the efforts of a misbehaving man to be in the store and bid him begone.
Theft: Overnight, 2300 block of 27th Street Southeast. Somebody stole a woman’s Toro lawnmower, valued at $100, from her backyard.
Theft: 4:48 p.m., 4:48 p.m., 1057 Outlet Collection Way SW. Police arrested a man at Marshall’s for bogusly returning items he had taken from the store and not paid for.
Burglary: Overnight, 900 block of 23rd Place Southeast. Somebody broke into an outdoor shed and stole garden tools.
Shoplifting: 8:05 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Loss prevention staff at Safeway contacted police after a woman left their store without paying for $20 worth of food items.
Blackmail: 9:07 p.m., 106th Place Southeast. A woman reported that a man who has compromising photos of her naked and smoking weed was trying to blackmail her.
Theft: 3 p.m., 1700 block of 17th Street Southeast. A man stole a cell phone and house key from his mother and possibly swiped an undisclosed amount of money from his son.
Assault: 10 p.m., 10 p.m., 3030 R St. SE. An athlete playing soccer at Game Farm Park in the waning hours of the day punched a fellow athlete in the face.
May 25
Animal problem: 12:20 p.m., 210 block of 10th Place Southeast. A male reported that a neighbor’s dog had bitten him.
Obstructing justice: 6:05 p.m., 1900 Auburn Way S. Police stopped two boys seen with a gun, which turned out to be a BB gun.
May 26
Hit and run: 7:45 a.m., 30400 block of 107th Avenue East. A hitter and runner damaged several pieces of property and skedaddled.
Burglary: 7:24 a.m., 2100 block of A Street Northeast. Burglars stole two work vehicles and two trailers from a business in Auburn.
Get out, again!: 1:19 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A boy previously booted from Safeway came back.
Theft from vehicles: 4:30 a.m., 4002 Auburn Way N. Surveillance cameras caught two dudes unknown stealing gas from vehicles at Frontier Auto Sales.
