Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Nov. 1 and Nov. 14:

Nov. 1

Theft: 3:30 a.m., 900 block of 12th Street Northeast. Somebody not only rummaged through an unlocked vehicle but also tossed sunflower seeds about.

Nov. 4

Theft: 12:56 p.m., 29800 block of Green River Road Southeast. Somebody swiped tools, bullets and clothes from a man’s parked vehicle. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.

Forgery: 6:24 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. A man presented pharmacists at the north end Top Food & Drug with a bogus prescription for 120 oxycodone pills.

Shoplifting: 8:14 p.m., 1509 Auburn Way S. Store security at Rite Aid saw a female person concealing cosmetics in her purse, took strong objection to the act, articulated their objections to the thief out in the parking lot and got the items back.

Strong arm robbery: 1 a.m., 2802 Auburn Way N. Somebody punched a man in the face then robbed him of his cell phone while he was bellied up to a urinal at the Sports Page Tavern.

Nov. 5

Tweeker peeper: 8:47 a.m., 2500 block of 24th Street Southeast. Police learned of a man peeking into the windows of a residence, contacted him and subsequent to arrest found him in possession of methamphetamine.

Shoplifting: 8:01 p.m., 1057 Supermall Way SW. When loss prevention and SuperMall security contacted a guy who’d shoplifted a shirt from an undisclosed department store, the guy dropped the shirt and skedaddled. The store got the shirt back.

Theft: 11:08 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. While the occupants of a car were inside Safeway, somebody smashed their front passenger window and stole two purses, value undisclosed.

Burglary: 10:30 p.m., 1015 24th St. NE. The Clarkston High School band stayed in the Cascade Middle School gymnasium during a visit to Auburn for a regional competition. When the band took off to compete, unknown bad guys took advantage of its absence, slithered into the school and stole various items from more than 20 of the team’s backpacks.

Nov. 8

Controlled substance: 2:12 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A man passed out with a needle sticking out of his arm in his car in the Safeway parking lot. Police found drugs and syringes on the passenger seat and arrested the doper.

Nov. 9

Shoplifting: 6:11 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. A guy thought he could get away with a beer hidden in his shirt pocket, but security at the north end Top Food & Drug thought otherwise and police arrived to arrest him.

Boosting Buddha: 8:52 p.m., 1800 block of M Street Northeast. Somebody snatched a 2-foot-tall cement Buddha from a woman’s front porch and hustled off with the Enlightened One.

Nov. 10

Possession of burglary tools: 1:42 a.m., 5600 block of South 316th Street. Police contacted a man during a welfare check and ended up arresting him for being in possession of auto theft tools, burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.

Traffic offense: 9:57 p.m., 200 block of H Street Northwest. A man flipped a car with a 12-year-old passenger inside then fled the scene, fearing police would arrest him for driving under the influence.

Nov. 12

Trespassing: 1:35 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. The north end Top Food & Drug took exception to a person yelling at and threatening customers, booted said yeller and threatener out and told him or her to stay away.

Burglary: 4:15 p.m., 1015 24th St. NE. Bad guys tripped a silent alarm at Cascade Middle School, but the alarm company waited for two hours to notify police. Arriving police interrupted three suspects burglarizing the school, catching two of them.

Nov. 14

Mom kept mum: 2:08 p.m., 1400 block of 30th Street Southeast. When police pulled over a 15-year-old boy for a traffic violation, the kid’s mother, sitting in the front seat, heard her progeny lie to police about his name but said nothing. Police cited the woman for allowing a minor to drive and cited the kid for lacking a license, having no ID on his person, and failing to cooperate with a police officer. Police released mother and son.
