Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3:
Oct. 30
Vandalism: 11 p.m., 2204 O Place NE. When his wife would not answer the door, a man roughed up the panel on a wooden garage.
Oct. 31
Funny money: 9 a.m., 407 Auburn Way S. Somebody passed a counterfeit $20 bill at a local coffee stand.
Burglary: 2:45 p.m., 699 Oravetz Road SE. Somebody broke into a King County sewage plant. Police did not specify what the intruder was looking for.
Animal problem: 8:25 p.m., 810 block of 52nd Street Southeast. A girl was trick-or-treating when a dog bit her.
Theft: 8:45 p.m., 6700 block of Montevista Drive Southeast. Somebody stole a boy’s halloween candy when he put it down to add candy to it. The sweets thief remains unknown.
Theft: Overnight, 2020 block of Dogwood Drive Southeast. A thief or thieves stole walkie-talkies and a camera from a parked vehicle.
Nov. 1
Assault of officer: 2:40 a.m., 4100 block of A Street Southeast. Police busted a man for trying to bust up a police officer.
Nov. 3
Burglary: 7:30 a.m., 3210 Scenic Drive SE. Burglars operating in Lakeland Hills snuck into an unoccupied house under construction, stole an undetermined amount of copper wire, damaged sheet rock and then snuck out again.
Burglary: Overnight, 34500 block of 56th Court S. Burglars stole wire from another new home under construction and took off.
Vandalism: 12:01 p.m., 1310 block of K Street Northeast. A man and a woman exchanged ugly words.
Vandalism: 3:40 a.m., 3800 block of D Place SE. Somebody slashed a tire belonging to another person.
Shoplifting: 5:44 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. Police busted a woman for stealing clothing and a purse from Nordstroms Rack.
Theft: 9:05 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A woman called 911 to report that she had been loading groceries into her vehicle when somebody lifted her wallet from her purse.
Theft: 12:45 p.m., 1510 block of Auburn Way S. A woman called 911 to report that an unknown man and woman had swiped a two-gallon gas container and then fled the scene in a Ford van.
Shoplifting: 6:30 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Drive SW. Two people stole $500 worth of Calphalon cookware from Bed Bath & Beyond.
Trespassing: 10:54 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. For naughty acts undisclosed, Safeway gave the not-so-innocent behinds of two boys the emphatic boot and informed the opposite ends of them to stay away.
Vandalism: 12:10 a.m., 521 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for breaking a pool cue.
Vandalism: 1:55 a.m., Auburn Way S. A person or persons unknown ripped a metal casting bear cub free from its pedestal at the Brown Bear Car Wash on Auburn Way North. Police kept the damaged casting for safekeeping until the owner of the business could pick it up.
