Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Oct. 18 and 20:

Oct. 18

Theft from vehicle: 4:45 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. Somebody busted a car window and stole a pair of headphones.

Vandalism: Overnight, 3300 block of Scenic Drive Southeast. Someone defaced a religious sign a woman had obtained from her church and set up on her front lawn. Across the words, “Jesus for King,” the sign defacer had penned: “Keep putting em up I’ll keep taking them down.” That sign was the replacement for another that someone had thieved from her front yard three weeks earlier. The woman told police she does not know who stole the first sign or who damaged the second, has no issues with her neighbors, and that neither she nor they have eyeballed anyone suspicious in the neighborhood as of late.

Theft of vehicle parts: 8:30 p.m., 3302 I St. NE. A thief, or thieves, stole a battery and wheels and tires off an SUV its owner had parked behind an apartment complex for months while he saved money to effect the repairs needed to make his ride drivable. The loss set the guy back $775.

Unlawful burning: 2:34 a.m., 220 15th St. NE. In the small hours of the morning, some wanker kindled a wee fire behind the north-end Dairy Queen.

Oct. 19

Trespassing: 5:21 p.m., 910 9th St. SE. A man whom police booted from the Auburn Community Center and the Rec for doing bad things undisclosed thus became among the first to so distinguish himself by being ordered to remove himself from the new building.

Theft: 4:11 p.m., 607 29th St. SE. Someone entered a vehicle and stole a firearm.

Oct. 20

Burglary: Overnight, 1600 W. Main St. A person or persons unknown damaged a construction vehicle and commandeered it to force open a conex box — a container for shipping and storage — and steal stuff from inside.

Trespassing: 2:09 p.m., 1520 Industry Drive SW. Police trespassed two men from a PSE substation. Police did not disclose why the men were there.
