Sept. 21

Wire fraud: 3 p.m., 3000 block of 15th Street Southeast. A too-trusting Auburn resident became a victim of wire fraud after sending $5,900 to Canada and getting zip in return.

Vandalism: Overnight, 500 block of 17th Street Southeast. An apartment dweller told police that when his building’s custodian came to work at 6:30 a.m. he discovered plants cut and flung onto the parking lot, broken decorative brick scattered on the sidewalk and a small pipe in the new sidewalk garden. Police did not disclose a value for the damage.

Sept. 22

Theft from vehicle: Overnight, 12300 block of Southeast 315th Place. A man preparing to go to work discovered that somebody had punched out his back driver’s-side wing window with a tire iron overnight then run off with his laptop. Police did not disclose a value for the missing computer.

Vandalism: 8:30 a.m., 1300 block of J Street Southeast. Somebody found a male — man or boy, police didn’t say — snoozing in a carport next to items he presumably had damaged.

Commercial burglary: Overnight, 106 11th St. SE. Tiki Tales Pet Grooming reported a commercial burglary. Police didn’t say what was burgled or disclose a value for said burgled item or items.

Auto theft: 10:05 a.m., 12401 SE 320th St. A woman called 911 to report that somebody had stolen her car at Green River Community College. Police were on the way when the woman found her car elsewhere on campus, bearing signs that somebody had rummaged through it and swiped her iPod charger.

Purse thievery: 4 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A woman told police that somebody stole her purse while she was playing slot machines at the Muckleshoot Casino. Police did not disclose the value of the loss.

Bike theft: 6:08 p.m., 1400 block of Auburn Way North. Somebody stole a bicycle from its owner. Police did not disclose a value for the loss.

Assault: 4:30 p.m., 1100 Auburn Way S. One male confronted another male in the northeast section of Les Gove Park, accused a guy of stealing his brother’s bike, then punched him several times about the face and head, breaking his nose and knocking him out.

Vandalism: 9:40 p.m., 12400 SE 312th St. Somebody used spray paint to vandalize the outside wall of a building. Police did not disclose a value for the damage.

The big fibber: 11:50 p.m., 12400 block of Southeast 320th Street. Police arrested a man for obstruction after he uttered several terminological inexactitudes about his name and date of birth.

Vandalism: 6:30 a.m., 31600 block of 117th Avenue Southeast. A man reported that somebody chucked landscaping brick through his rear passenger side window.
