Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8.

Oct. 4

Shoplifting: 8:15 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Two pairs of boots, two shirts and two pairs of leggings up and walked out of Debs Shop in the Supermall.

Burglary: overnight, 325 C St. NW. Burglars at a construction site stole a trailer filled with tools then broke into a container and made off with numerous items of undisclosed worth.

Theft: 8:12 a.m., 1602 A St. SE. A woman swiped cereal and beer of undisclosed manufacture from a 7-Eleven.

Burglary: Overnight, 4200 block of A St. SE. Suspects took nothing after breaking into a local business. The owner told police that she is behind on payments to her ex-partner whom she bought out, but the ex said he or she knew nothing about the incident.

Swindle: Overnight, 12722 Southeast 312th St. A woman called 911 to say that she believed she had been the victim of a swindle concerning a non-existent entity called “The Government Grant Department.”

Assault: 4:30 p.m., 1300 block of 69th Street Southeast. In the latest episode of an ongoing dispute, a man assaulted a teenage boy.

Theft: 4 p.m., 210 block of N Street Southeast. Between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4, somebody stole an unloaded revolver from a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

Forgery: 6:01 p.m., 901 Auburn Way N. A woman trying to cash a bogus check was detected in so doing and took off before police arrived at the scene.

Theft: 7:40 p.m., 1414 Lake Tapps Parkway SE. Somebody broke into a vehicle at the Lakeland Hills Town Center parking lot and stole a red laptop bag with an HP laptop and an Ipad inside.

Oct. 7

Auto theft: 9:30 a.m., 1407 Lake Tapps Drive SE. An auto theft victim followed his or her stolen car with matching thief inside and watched said thief climb into a getaway car. Police later found three suspects, developed probable cause and busted them for auto theft.

Theft from vehicle: Overnight, 5500 block of S 319th Court. A man called to report that persons unknown had broken out the front driver’s side window of his company vehicle and taken multiple items.

Theft: 4:07 p.m., Police busted a man at the Muckleshoot Casino for defrauding an innkeeper.

Gulp and galumph: 9:55 p.m., 2802 Auburn Way N. An area business employee reported that two customers had left the business without paying for their food and drinks.

Oct. 8

Suspicious. 3:04 a.m., 702 Auburn Way S. A McDonald’s employee saw between the restaurant and Subway a suspicious vehicle with people inside acting suspiciously. Police chose not to disclose the nature of that brazen aggregate of human and vehicle suspiciousity, leaving it one of those mysteries.
