Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Sept. 9 and Sept. 14, as follows:

Sept. 9

Vandalism: Overnight, 1 37th St. NW. A bad guy, identity unknown, broke a business’ front glass window, leaving the owner to pick up the pieces and pay the undisclosed damages.

Commercial burglary: Overnight, 31217 124th Avenue Southeast. Burglars hit a construction site storage container, swiping an assortment of power tools, their value one of those enduring police mysteries.

Con job: 11 a.m., 32100 block of 105th Plaza Southeast. A woman got a letter, asking her to be part of a mystery shopper program. Before actually following the instructions that would have had her wire money to China, her bank let her know that the money order she had received as pay for her services was bogus, a fake, a fraud.

Guests are like fish: 2:13 p.m., 1500 block of N Street Northeast. A man was told to get out of a home and not come back because he had tried to stay past his spoilage date.

Sept. 10

Trespassing: 2:17 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for criminal trespassing after Muckleshoot Casino security asked him several times to leave, and he wouldn’t do it.

Vehicle theft: 2 p.m., 4210 B St. NW. Somebody stole a man’s utility trailer, value undisclosed.

Forgery: 5:14 p.m., 2600 Auburn Way S. A vendor at an undisclosed local event received a fake $20 bill. He turned that bogus bill over to police who sent it on to the Secret Service for destruction.

Commercial burglary: 7:02 p.m., 1031 14th St. NE. Burglars struck Dick Scobee Elementary school, entering the building from the roof. Did the burglars steal anything? Police didn’t say.

Sept. 11

Assault: 1:35 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A man tried to push past a police officer when he learned he wouldn’t be allowed to enter Club Galaxy at the Muckleshoot Casino. He punched one police officer in the face and elbowed another officer on the head. Police took the brawler into custody and transported him to King County on suspicion of 3rd degree assault.

Theft: 4 a.m., 900 block of 31st Street Northeast. A man invited two women and a man home from a Renton bar. The triad of guests unexpectedly departed, and only later did man discover that several items had departed with them.

Theft from vehicle: 8:30 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A woman told police that somebody had stolen $30,000 in jewelry from her car while it was parked overnight in the lot of the Muckleshoot Casino.

Burglary: 10 p.m., 225 6th St. SE. A contractor reported that burglars had broken into a job site sometime overnight and burgled a computer.

Sept. 13

Commercial burglary: 3:30 p.m., 10 block of 16th Street Northeast. Persons unknown unlawfully entered a storage unit and took an undisclosed amount of rolled coins and cash from a cabinet.

Sept. 14

Theft: 4:09 p.m., 900 block of Auburn Way North. A man called 911 to report that somebody he knew had just robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash. The man later admitted that he’d been trying to buy some drugs from a friend, who’d taken his money without giving the victim any drugs.
