Sept. 29

Purse theft: 1:30 a.m., 440 16th St. NE. A woman told police that on Sept. 29 bad guys as yet unknown lifted her wallet at BB Magraws, where said wallet had accompanied her for a night out.

Oct. 3

Commercial burglary: 10:30 a.m., 1336 W Main St. Burglars struck L&L Appliance sometime over the weekend, pocketing an undisclosed amount of savings bonds, tools and cash.

Oct. 4

Drunk: 12:57 a.m., 1400 block of 6th St. Northeast. Police arrested a man for being drunk and in control of a motor vehicle after officers beheld him snoozing away at the wheel, engine running, vehicle in drive, foot on the brake pedal. Police also cited the liquored-up fellow for having an open bottle of booze in the center console.

Commercial burglary: 2 a.m., 2705 Auburn Way N. A man as yet unknown smashed the front door glass at Pawn Exchange, entered and broke a glass case containing iPods and other personal electronics. The store planned to take inventory to determine exactly what was missing.

Commercial burglary: Overnight, 1619 Auburn Way N. Burglars punched two holes in an outside wall to get into Auburn Auto Sports LLC then stole undisclosed items worth undisclosed amounts.

Threatening: 5:27 p.m., 1506 30th St. SE. Somebody left several threatening notes at a woman’s home. None of the threatening language amounted to a crime in the eyes of the law, and the woman had no idea who her threatener was.

Oct. 5

Tip thief: 12:35 a.m., 800 14th St. NE. A boy unknown stole a tip jar containing an undisclosed amount of money from a local coffee shop.

Git out! 3:53 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Three male varmints made such undisclosed pains in the head of themselves at the SuperMall that they got the order to leave said premises and not show their faces there again.

Oct. 6

Theft from car: 7:18 a.m., 301 Oravetz Place SE. Somebody broke into a teacher’s car and stole her purse while she was working at Illalko Elementary.

Oct. 7

Vandalism: 8:30 a.m., 1100 block of 12th St. NE. A woman reported that her estranged husband had come to her home and commenced to beat on the door, causing fresh damage to a screen door. Police arrested the man for malicious mischief, and he fessed up to kicking on the door.

Theft: 3 p.m., 1341 Auburn Way N. A woman accidentally left her debit car in a cash machine, whereupon a thief took advantage by slurping up cash from her checking account without her say so, sometime between Sept. 19 and Sept. 21.

Vandalism: 9:05 p.m., 2900 block of M Street Southeast. An Auburn resident complained to police that somebody had dumped a can of paint on the street, damaging his vehicle.

Oct. 8

Trespassed: 2:40 p.m., 124 2nd St. SE. A man got the boot from the Rainbow Cafe for threatening employees and customers.

Theft: 4:40 p.m., 762 Supermall Drive SW. Police arrested a woman for stealing $1,294.06 worth of undisclosed items from Walmart.

Shoplifting: 6:41 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested a boy for shoplifting a pair of shoes valued at $44.90 and released him to his mother.

Robbery: 9:29 p.m., 30900 block of 124th Avenue SE. A man told police that two guys with box cutters tried to rob him.

Oct. 9

Uncle Thief: 6:30 a.m., 510 M St. SE. A woman reported that her kid’s uncle had come into her apartment where he had been storing some clothing and then stole a backpack belonging to another guy containing clothing, a wallet, debit card, a driver’s license and about $175 in cash.

Boosting bras: 3:43 p.m., 1310 Supermall Way SW. A manager at the SuperMall Victoria’s Secret called to say a woman had stolen 19 bras valued at $960 in total.

Burglary: 5 p.m., 1802 M St. NW. Somebody stole an undisclosed amount of copper wire from the Costco Wholesale Warehouse. Police did not disclose a value for the missing wire.

Oct. 10

Theft: Overnight, 4600 block of Auburn Way S. Unknown persons cut and stole about 700 feet of copper cable worth an undisclosed amount.

Arson: Overnight, 6700 block of Montevista Drive Southeast. Unknown persons set fire to a cedar tree next to an Auburn resident’s house. The house was not damaged.
