The Auburn Police Officer’s Association is hosting its ninth annual charity golf tournament Aug. 8 at the Auburn Golf Course.

Organizers invite players, donors and sponsors to join in this year’s fundraising effort.

In 2007, the tournament raised more than $14,000 and this year’s goal is to surpass $20,000 to support local charities.

Sponsorships start as low as $250 and organizers will also accept donations of items that can be used in a raffle or silent auction. The player entry fee is $100 per person and includes golf, cart, box lunch, dinner and beverages.

The tournament is a four-player scramble event. There will be several individual contests, team awards, a silent auction, and a raffle.
