AUBURN GYMNASIUM

THE GYMNASIUM AT LES GOVE PARK: Participants can drop-in to a variety of programs scheduled throughout the year, including open gym basketball and volleyball, a teen after-school program, an indoor playground designed for ages 5 and younger, family nights, and rock climbing instruction. Organized programs include futsal (an indoor soccer league), volleyball and basketball leagues, specialized recreation leagues, preschool sport classes, rock climbing classes, and birthday party packages. The facility is also available for rentals and other special events. The Gymnasium at Les Gove Park is located at 910 9th St. S.E. INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL PROGRAM FOR TEENS: An afterschool program for boys and girls in grades 6-12 at the Les Gove Park Gymnasium. The Auburn School District provides transportation from the four middle schools to The Gym between 2:30 and 3 p.m. daily and back to the four middle schools at 5:00 PM daily. $1 daily drop in fee; $25 per 10 week session.

INDOOR PLAYGROUND: For ages 5 and younger. Bring your child for socialization and fun! We provide balls, games, mats, riding toys, climbing toys and more in our gym. No more than three children per adult. No registration required. Parent or caregiver must provide supervision of children at all times. Drop-in fee: $2 per child per session, $1 per additional child; 10-visit punch pass: $15 first child/$10 each additional child. • Youth Rocks! This 90-minute private wall rental is designed just for youth ages 12 and younger. All equipment, belayers, instruction and climbing fun are provided. $12/kid. Minimum 6; Maximum 16.
• Got Belay? This 2-hour package gives your group of all ages private use of the climbing wall. All equipment, belayers, and instruction are provided. Great for parties and family fun. $15/person. Minimum 6; Maximum 16.
• Bridge the Gap: This package is designed for groups wanting to develop leadership and teambuilding skills. This program will be customized to meet your groups individual needs. Perfect for teams, clubs, workplace training, youth groups, etc. This program will be customized at time of registration. All equipment, instruction and facilitation are provided. $18/person, Minimum 6.

YOUTH SPORTS CAMPS

AUBURN PARKS YOUTH SPORTS CAMPS: For ages 5-12, these camps will offer a chance to experience a new camp each week. Campers can elect to attend all day with before and after care at Dick Scobee Elementary. Camps will be from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Campers can also elect to attend half-day camps from 9 a.m. to noon. Per week cost is $125 for residents, $157 for nonresidents for full-day camps. With before and after care the cost per week is $170 for residents, $213 for nonresidents. Half-day camp cost per week is $90 for residents, $113 for nonresidents. Camps include:

T-BALL

• Pee Wee T-ball (Ages 3-5): This is a introductory sports program to prepare children for our league sports program. Players will learn the basic skills of throwing, catching, base running and hitting. After a few weeks of practice some modified games will be implemented. Some parent participation maybe required.

• Cub Baseball (Grades 1-2): Cub Baseball is a coed instructional machine-pitch program emphasizing sportsmanship and fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere. Cub Baseball is a six-week program that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays; this includes practices and games. Cub Baseball generally starts the first week of June.

• Pinto Baseball (Grades 3-4): Pinto baseball league is a natural progression from our instructional leagues. Teams play with 10 fielders, receive five pitched by their own pitcher and game scores are not recorded. Teams practice and play eight league games on Mondays and Wednesdays. Pinto baseball practices generally start end of May and games start mid-June.

• Bronco Baseball (Grades 5-6): Bronco baseball teams play with nine fielders and balls and strikes called by an umpire. Teams practice and play eight league games on Mondays and Wednesdays. Bronco baseball practices generally start end of May and games start mid-June.

• Pony Baseball (Grades 7-8): Pony baseball teams practice start practicing the first full week of May and will play 10 league games starting the first full week of June. Practices and games can be held any day of the week, Monday – Thursday.

• Colt Baseball (Grades 9-12): Colt baseball teams practice start practicing the first full week of May and will play 10 league games starting the first full week of June. Practices and games can be held any day of the week, Monday – Thursday.

TRIPLE PLAY BASEBALL CLUB: Players ages 12-18 with a passion for baseball and a desire to take their game to the next level are invited to a workout with Triple Play baseball Club. More information: 253-249-9359.

TRACK AND FIELD

AUBURN PARKS TRACK PROGRAM FOR GRADES 1-8: The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department Youth Track & Field program is a recreational program for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. It includes a variety of running and field events. Sportsmanship, conditioning, leadership, and confidence are reinforced. Participants will learn the proper fundamentals of track and field events in a fun-filled atmosphere and get an opportunity to compete with other kids in various meets in Auburn and other neighboring cities. DANCE

AUBURN PARKS BALLERINA ENCHANTMENT DANCE CLASS: For ages 3 to 5. This class will allow participants to experience the pure joy and enchantment of being a swan princess, sugar plum fairy or anything else a ballerina could dream or imagine. The next session runs from July 12 to Aug. 12. Classes are from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Fridays at the Les Gove Park Building. Fee for the class is $40 for residents, $50 for nonresidents for residents. AUBURN PARKS MINI STARS GYMNASTICS: In conjunction with the Auburn Gymnastics Center, gymnasts will work on equipment specifically designed to develop fine motor skills, strength and beginning tumbling skills. AUBURN SCHOOL DISTRICT POOL: The Auburn School District Swimming Pool, located at 516 4th St. NE offers several programs including:
• Morning Lap Swim from 5:45 to 7:15 a.m. Monday and Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday;
• Open Swim, from 8 to 9:15 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday;

AUBURN PARKS LACROSSE CAMP: July 15-19 at Game Farm Park for ages 6-13. Players will learn the fundamental skills of stick handling,, catching, throwing, cradling and shooting. Cost is $90 for residents, $113 for nonresidents. A $10 supplies fee is due on the first day of camp if campers need lacrosse equipment. AUBURN PARKS TENNIS LESSONS ADULT INTERMEDIATE: Participants will fine tune skills and learn and develop strategy for match play. Instruction will be in a ‘team tennis style’ practice atmosphere with both fundamental instruction and match play. Tennis experience is necessary. QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimension and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. Lessons will be conducted at Auburn Riverside High School’s tennis courts at Oravetz Road and Mill Pond Drive. Registants are required to supply tier own racket and one can of tennis balls. AUBURN PARKS TURF BURN FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AUG. 24-25: This tournament will feature six player per side teams playing all-pass flag football on a modified field with an intermediate sized football. Each team is guaranteed three games. Games will be played at the Game Farm Park turf fields. Cost is $300 per team. AUBURN PARKS SUMMER SOFTBALL LEAGUE: This late season league is for players who want to continue playing softball through the summer. Each team will play 12 games, plus playoffs for qualifying teams. Games will be played at Game Farm Park and begin July 14. Seven leagues will be offered, including:
• Men’s Continental League, games on Sundays, $820 per team;
• Men’s National League, games on Sundays, $870 per team;
• Men’s National League, games on Thursdays, $870 per team;
• Coed Continental League, games on Wednesdays, $840 per team;
• Men’s Continental League, games on Thursdays, $870 per team;
• Coed Continental League, games on Fridays, $840 per team; and
• Coed National League, games on Friday, $890 per game.

AUBURN PARKS ADULT SUMMER LEAGUE BASKETBALL: Ages 18 and older. Two basketball leagues will be offered for adults beginning June 10 at Green River Community College and the Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Administration Building. This is a call-your-own league with each team playing 10 games. A score keeper will be assigned to each game. Cost of the league is $175 per team, $200 after May 25. AUBURN PARKS BEGINNING BOOT CAMP: Are you ready to get into the best shape of your life? You can with this 6-week military style fitness boot camp. This class is ideal for the beginner or if you have been away from working out for a while. The class is focused on circuit-style training exercises which give you an overall cardiovascular and muscle building workout. Each class consists of stretching and warm-up exercises, a 30-40 minute circuit training phase and cool-down stretches that will increase your overall strength, endurance and flexibility. HOCKEY

SNO-KING BEGINNERS PROGRAM: The Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds will offer a year-round, beginners-level program for boys and girls ages 5-10. No skating experience is necessary. The program will be on Saturdays at Castle Ice in the Renton Highlands, or at Kingsgate Ice Arena in Kirkland. Players are welcome to join at any time. ICE SKATING

LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES: An eight-week series with group and private lessons for boys, girls and adults is being offered at KENT VALLEY ICE CENTRE. All coaches are certified through the National Youth Sport Coaches Association and must clear a Washington State Patrol background check. AUBURN PARKS SPONSORS: are needed for the teams that will take part in Auburn Parks leagues in various sports. The team sponsorship fee is $195, with that business having its name and logo on the T-shirt uniform. The sponsoring business also will receive an 8×10 team photo plaque. AUBURN PARKS ADULT SPORTS LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION: This program is for registration of individual players that wish to play on adult sports league teams during the year 2011. All players must be a minimum of 18 years old. If you are a free agent looking to be placed on a team please complete this registration and then send an email to sportsleagues@auburnwa.gov with what league you are wishing to get placed on. This is intended for individual players registering for and agreeing to the assumption of risk waiver form for themselves only.
