• Auburn Sports and Marine, located at 810 Auburn Way N., is the newest addition to the North River Boats’ independent dealer network.

• Auburn Sports and Marine, located at 810 Auburn Way N., is the newest addition to the North River Boats’ independent dealer network.

The addition of Auburn comes at the closure of the dealer’s Tacoma and Sumner locations.

The primary reason for doing this, according to owner Brian Brush, was the inability to find a suitable location on Highway 167 that would allow him to have the retail and service location in the same facility.

“Currently, 98 percent of all of our sales in the Tacoma region occur at the Sumner facility, but the service and rigging of those boats is performed at our Tacoma facility,” Brush said. “This is both inconvenient for the customer and a logistical nightmare for the sales team.

“Auburn Sports and Marine has a great location and an established reputation as a premier dealership.”

• Food Lifeline officials expressed their gratitude to Mosby Brothers Farm for its food donations of cucumbers and green beans. Food Lifeline, in turn, was able to distribute the farm’s produce donations to 28 food banks, shelters and feeding programs throughout Western Washington.

“Everyday crops are ripening and when we have extra, we call you guys,” said Burr Mosby, the family farm’s patriarch who has been growing crops since 1977.

Mosby Brothers Farm moved to the Auburn area in 1990, and now is one of the largest zucchini growers in the Puget Sound. The farm has been perfecting its crops and harvest techniques over 30 years of operation.

For Mosby Brothers Farms, located at 12754 S.E. Green Valley Road, the season will draw to a close after the traditional pumpkin patch ends Oct. 31. The patch also includes a corn maze and hay rides.

The farm is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call 253-939-7666 or 253-939-9431.
