For the Reporter
The City of Auburn hosts a public workshop May 20, part of its ongoing effort toward developing and implementing appropriate City code requirements in response to the passage of Initiative 502, which legalized recreational marijuana.
The workshop runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main St.
Residents and stakeholders at the workshop can learn more about the legislation and share and discuss their position on the topic of state-licensed recreational marijuana uses in the city. The goal of the discussion effort is for staff to understand and incorporate the opinions and preferences of residents and stakeholders to help guide the City’s decision-making process on how to best address recreational marijuana in Auburn.
At the workshop, City staff will present a brief presentation covering: what I-502 is; state I-502 regulations; jurisdiction comparisons; Auburn zoning; City regulation options; and an anticipated adoption schedule.
