Meghan Wagner, Auburn Riverside band teacher, will conduct the Washington Ambassadors of Music band, beginning in 2016.

The band includes about 100 high school students from throughout the state who were nominated by their music directors.

The band will rehearse for three days at the beginning of the summer and will then travel to Europe in July. The band will perform at outdoor venues in England, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein.

“I am very excited to be the conductor of this great group as we represent Washington and the United States,” Wagner said.

Wagner, who plays the French horn, is a nationally board certified band teacher who has been at Auburn Riverside for 10 years. She earned her bachelor’s of music education from Pacific Lutheran University and her master’s of music education from Central Washington University.

She is active with the Washington Music Educators Association and the Green River Music Educators Association.
